Big South Women's Golfers of the Week - Sept. 10

Madison Lehr (Mechanicsville, Va.) has been named the Big South Women’s Golfer of the Week for events played Sept. 3-9, while High Point’s
Rachel Joyce (Pinehurst, N.C.) is the Women’s Freshman of the Week honoree, it was announced today.
Lehr posted a career-high 2-under par 214 (71-71-72) to win the Tribe Invitational (par 72, 5,947 yards) as well as lead Longwood to its first team title since 2012. It marked the Lancers’ first individual medalist since 2016. Lehr was the only player among the 50 competitors to finish the 54-hole event under par as she won by four shots. She led the tournament in both par-5 scoring at 5-under par, and birdies with eight.
Joyce recorded a 3-over par 216 (66-75-75) to tie for 14th out of 120 competitors at the Golfweek Fall Challenge (par 71, 6,004 yards). Her opening round 66 tied the program record, she tied for seventh in the field in par-4 scoring, and she finished with seven birdies to help the Panthers finish fourth in the 23-team tournament.
