Honors continue to roll in for Liberty's rookie quarterback Stephen Calvert who has been named the STATS National Freshman of the Week following a career day against Monmouth on Saturday.  Earlier today, Calvert was named the Big South Freshman of the Week, his third weekly honor this year from the conference office.

Calvert finished the game completing 27-of-34 passing attempts for 350 yards and three touchdowns. He completed 79.4 percent of his passing attempts against Monmouth, his highest completion percentage in three starts at quarterback.

In three starts at quarterback, Calvert has completed 71.3 percent of his pass attempts (72-of-101) for 901 yards and eight touchdowns with a 168.40 passing efficiency rating.

In seven games this year, the rookie has thrown for 1,214 yards, a mark that currently ranks third in program history for passing yards in a season by a freshman.

Calvert threw for a career-best 350 yards, his second 300-yard passing game in 2016. His 350 passing yards against Monmouth is the 18th highest single-game passing performance in program history. With his second 300-yard game of the season, Calvert becomes the 10th player in program history with multiple 300-yard passing games.

The Flames close out the month of October at home when Liberty hosts Gardner-Webb at Williams Stadium, this Saturday. Kickoff for the Family Weekend game is set for 3:30 p.m.
