BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Former Campbell University golf standout Michelle Koh has qualified to represent Malaysia in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

A 2012 Campbell graduate, Koh is one of 60 players in the world to qualify for the Olympic women's golf tournament, which will be held Aug. 17-20 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Ranked No.-57 in the 60-player Olympic field, which includes the likes of Lydia Ko (New Zealand), Brooke Henderson (Canada), Inbee Park (Korea) and Lexi Thompson (USA), Koh will tee off in the 72-hole stroke play event at the par-71, 6500-yard (5944 meters) Barra Da Tijuca course.

Currently No.-443 in the Rolex World Golf rankings, Koh has played on the LPGA China tour and advanced to the second stage of LPGA Q school qualifying last year.

An All-Big South Conference and all-region performer as a senior at Campbell, Koh tied for 10th place in the 2012 NCAA East Regional.  She also earned all-conference (2011) and all-freshman (2009) team honors in the Atlantic Sun.  Koh set the Campbell school record for lowest 18-hole score (5-under par 66) at the 2010 Palmetto Intercollegiate on Kiawah Island, S.C.

In 2015, Koh won for the first time as a professional at the CTBC Shanghai Ladies Classic at the Tianma Country Club in China.  She finished 12th at the Australian Ladies Masters in February 2015.
