GEICO Alumni Showcase - Matt Elliott
With the start of the new season, the Big South Conference continues its "GEICO Alumni Showcase" series. The first edition of the 2016-17 year highlights Winthrop Track & Field alum Matt Elliott. The Eagle alum holds several records in both the Big South and Winthrop record books from his 2007-08 season and took the running world by storm in 2013 with a viral video following his amazing 4th-place finish at the USA Track & Field Championships.
Matt will also be participating in the 2016 Big South 5K Road Race, a USATF-certified race hosted by the Big South Conference that has raised over $113,000 for middle school athletics programs in the Charlotte metro area where the Conference is headquartered.
