Big South Announces Softball Players of the Week - April 22

Hunter Mundy (Creedmoor, N.C.) has been named the Big South Softball Player of the Week, while Gardner-Webb sophomore
Brooke Perry (Clemmons, N.C.) earns her second Pitcher of the Week honor of the season for games played April 15-21. In addition, Campbell Camel
Claudia Ware (Leonard, Texas) is the Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Mundy hit for a .556 average last week with 10 hits, eight RBI, six runs and four extra-base hits to help lead the Highlanders to four conference wins. On Thursday against Hampton, she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two home runs, a double and three runs scored. Then on Saturday versus the Pirates, Mundy collected another four hits with five driven in plus a home run and two runs scored.
Perry earned a win and a save in 14.2 innings pitched last week with 16 strikeouts. She began her week with a complete game shutout at Charleston Southern, where she allowed just one hit and fanned 12 in the Runnin’ Bulldogs’ 3-0 victory. Perry then collected a 2.2 inning save against the Bucs, again allowing no runs and striking out two.
Ware finished last week with a .385 batting average, six RBI, three runs, three walks and a triple. In game one of a doubleheader at Presbyterian, she drove in two and walked once in the 7-0 win. Ware then knocked in four more runs, and scored twice as part of a 3-4 day with a walk in a 13-6 Camel victory.
