Big South Announces Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - Feb. 12
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Campbell junior Athanas Kioko (Mackakos, Kenya) has been named the Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, with USC Upstate junior Tony Auguste (Arlington, Va.) earning the Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor for meets competed Feb. 3-9, the conference office announced Wednesday.
Kioko finished sixth place in the 3000m elite race with a time of 8:06.34 at the Camel City Invite over the weekend. The time is currently the best in the Big South and 24th overall in the country this season.
Auguste set a school record in the weight throw with a distance of 18.86 meters at the South Carolina Invite over the weekend. He also claimed first-place in the shot put with a distance of 15.11 meters, which ranks second all-time in school history.
