Big South Announces Women's Soccer Players of the Week - Oct. 18
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Campbell forward Jessica Donald (Tully, N.Y.) has been named the Big South Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Radford defender Kennedy Dunnings (Virginia Beach, Va.) and Campbell defensive midfielder Emma Bushee (San Marcos, Calif.) are the Co-Defensive Players of the Week for matches played Oct. 11-17, it was announced today. In addition, UNC Asheville forward Taylor Gardner (Cherry Hill, N.J.) has been selected as the Freshman of the Week.
Donald scored nine points on three goals and three assists in two wins last week for the Camels. She opened with a goal and assist in Campbell’s 7-1 victory over Gardner-Webb last Wednesday. Donald then scored twice and tallied two assists for six total points in Campbell’s 6-1 victory at Winthrop on Saturday. Her effort helped move Campbell back into first-place in the Big South standings with a 7-1-0 mark and 21 points.
Dunnings was part of a backline that recorded back-to-back shutouts against High Point and Presbyterian. She first helped the Highlander defense limit HPU to one shot on goal in Radford’s 1-0 victory last Wednesday. On Saturday against PC, Dunnings anchored the defense that permitted just six shots the entire match.
Bushee was part of the Campbell defense that held Gardner-Webb and Winthrop to a combined five shots on goal and eight shots total in the Camels’ two victories. She contributed on the offensive end with a goal and four assists vs. GWU, as well as a goal at Winthrop.
Gardner scored the eventual game-winning goal in Asheville’s 3-2 win over Presbyterian last Wednesday. Her unassisted score at the 81:08 mark gave the Bulldogs a two-goal cushion as Asheville would snap its three-match losing streak.

Also nominated for Defensive Player of the Week: Elizabeth Olsen (Charleston Southern), Brooke Bonner (Longwood), Carson Bogan (UNC Asheville) and Cora Brendle (USC Upstate).
Also nominated for Freshman of the Week: Kaleigh Backlund (Campbell), Molly Keane (Charleston Southern), Brooke Bonner (Longwood) and Kat Parris (Radford).
