Seedings and Pairings Announced for 2021 Big South Men's Soccer Championship
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The seedings and pairings for the 2021 Big South Conference Men’s Soccer Championship have been determined following the conclusion of the regular-season this evening.
Campbell claimed its second Big South regular-season championship in the last three seasons and is the No. 1 seed in the six-team tournament. The Camels, who seek their third tournament title in four seasons, finished the 2021 fall schedule with a 7-0-1 Big South record and 22 points. Campbell enters the Championship unbeaten in its last eight contests.

High Point, which claimed its first-ever tournament title in the 2021 spring season, is the No. 2 seed following its 5-0-3 league record and 18 points. The Panthers closed the fall campaign on a 17-match unbeaten streak in regular-season conference matches dating back to 2019. Campbell and High Point both earned byes into next Wednesday’s semifinal round.
Longwood earned the No. 3 seed in the Championship following its 4-3-1 conference mark and 13 points. The Lancers return to the postseason for the first time since 2018 and match their highest seed in program history.
Winthrop claimed the No. 4 seed and will host a first round matchup against No. 5 seed
Presbyterian College on Sunday evening. The Eagles finished with an even 4-4 conference record and 12 points, while the Blue Hose ended the season with a 3-3-2 mark and 11 points. Winthrop and Presbyterian return to the postseason after missing the 2020-21 Championship, as Sunday’s first-round matchup will be a rematch of the 2019 first-round content when the Blue Hose went on the road to defeat the Eagles in double overtime.
Gardner-Webb rounds out the field as the No. 6 seed and will open at No. 3 Longwood on Sunday afternoon. The Runnin’ Bulldogs closed the conference slate with a 3-4-1 record and 10 points. The No. 6 seed has advanced to the Championship match four times in the last nine seasons.
The two first round winners on Sunday will advance to next week’s semifinals on Wednesday, Nov. 10. Top-seeded Campbell will host the winner of Winthrop/Presbyterian College, while High Point will host the winner of Longwood/Gardner-Webb. The highest remaining seed will host the title match on Sunday, Nov. 14 on ESPN+.
The 2021 Big South Men’s Soccer Championship will be played at higher seeds throughout the tournament, and every match of the championship will be shown on ESPN+. The Big South’s tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship. The full schedule is as follows:
