CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Following Charleston Southern’s announcement earlier this afternoon regarding its pause of athletic activities due to contact tracing and positive cases, the Big South Conference has updated its format for the upcoming Hercules Tires Men’s Basketball Championship.  The conference tournament will now be a 10-team event, and will feature two first round games -- No. 8 vs. No. 9, and No. 7 vs. No. 10 -- on Saturday, Feb. 27, instead of three.

The Buccaneers’ final men’s basketball regular-season game vs. USC Upstate tomorrow (Wednesday, Feb. 24) is canceled.  Charleston Southern had been determined as the No. 11 seed, and was scheduled to play at No. 6 seed Gardner-Webb in the first round.  Gardner-Webb will now move to the quarterfinal round and will play at the No. 3 seed on Monday, March 1.

CSU’s women’s basketball series at USC Upstate scheduled for Feb. 25-26 has been postponed.  The Big South Conference is working with Charleston Southern to reschedule the series, as well as impacted conference competition in volleyball, women’s soccer and women’s tennis.
