USC Upstate Opens Big South Play with Sweep of Buccaneers

The USC Upstate softball team won the first two games of the weekend series against Charleston Southern on Friday evening at the Charleston Southern Softball Complex.
 
USC Upstate (10-4, 2-0 BSC) pounded out eight runs in the first game of the double header and recorded another five runs in the night cap between the two squads. Bre Cooper (Massillon, Ohio) extended her hitting streak to seven games and hit her first career home run in the first game of the night. Tiffany Domingue (York, S.C.) made a strong return to the Spartan lineup with a home run, a double and a trio of RBI's on the night. Peyton Darnell (Fort Mill, S.C.) also had a strong impact with a five RBI night behind a double and a home run.
