Big South Announces Men's Cross Country Runners of the Week - Sept. 9
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Campbell senior Athanas Kioko (Machakos, Kenya) has been selected the Big South Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, while USC Upstate’s Logan Patete (Cedar Park, Texas) is the Men’s Freshman Runner of the Week for the opening meets of the 2021 season, it was announced today.
Kioko finished first at the Elon Opener with a time of 17:55.2 in the 6K. He outpaced 106 runners to win the meet by just :1.3 seconds.
Patete finished 12th at the Eye Opener with a time of 26:40 in the 8K race, and was the third-highest finisher on the Upstate squad.
