Seedings and Pairings Announced for 2022 Big South Women's Soccer Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) -- For the second consecutive season, Campbell University has earned the No. 1 seed in the Big South Women’s Soccer Championship tournament, it was determined following the conclusion of the conference season this evening.  The top four teams in the final standings qualify for the league’s postseason championship, which will be contested Nov. 3 & 6 at the SportsPlex in Matthews, N.C.

CHAMPIONSHIP BRACKET

The Camels finished the regular-season with 23 points and a 7-0-2 conference record for their second-straight outright title.  USC Upstate and Radford tied for second in the standings with identical 6-2-1 records and 19 points, and the Spartans earned the No. 2 seed based on their 2-0 victory over the 3-seeded Highlanders on Oct. 4.  The two teams will go head-to-head in the second semifinal on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 7:00pm.


Gardner-Webb finished fourth in the standings with 14 points (4-3-2 Big South) to claim the fourth and final seed in the tournament, and will face No. 1 seed Campbell in the first semifinal on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 4:00pm.  The teams played to a 2-2 draw during the regular-season on Oct. 4.

The 2022 Big South Women’s Soccer Championship will be played at the Matthews Sportsplex in Matthews, N.C. on Nov. 3 (Semifinals) and Nov. 6 (Finals).  All three matches of the tournament will be broadcast on ESPN+, and the Big South’s tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship.  The full tournament schedule is as follows:.
