Seedings and Pairings Announced for 2022 Big South Men's Soccer Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – For the second consecutive season, Campbell University has earned the No. 1 seed in the Big South Men’s Soccer Championship tournament, it was determined following the conclusion of the conference season this evening.  The top four teams in the final standings qualify for the league’s postseason championship, which will be contested Nov. 6 & 12 at campus sites.  The Camels, the defending Big South Tournament champion, finished the 2022 regular-season with 19 points and a 6-1-1 conference record for their second-straight outright title.

High Point, which handed Campbell its lone Big South loss of the year, is the No. 2 seed after finishing second with 18 points (5-0-3 Big South).  The Panthers will host No. 3 seed USC Upstate, which was third in the league standings this season with 15 points (4-1-3).  The team’s played to a 1-1 draw this past Saturday, while Sunday’s postseason meeting will be a rematch of the Big South’s 2021 spring championship contest.
 
Presbyterian College finished fourth in the standings with 11 points (3-3-2 Big South) to claim the fourth and final seed in the tournament, and will travel to No. 1 seed Campbell on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 6:00pm.  The Camels defeated the Blue Hose, 3-0, this past Saturday,
 
The 2022 Big South Men’s Soccer Championship will be played at the higher seeds throughout the tournament, and begins Sunday, Nov. 6 with the Semifinals.  The highest remaining seed will host the Championship match on Saturday, Nov. 12.  All three matches of the tournament will be broadcast on ESPN+, and the Big South’s tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship.  The full tournament schedule is as follows:.
