Big South Announces Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - Dec. 7

Deron Dudley (Wichita, Kan.) has been named the Big South Conference Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week accolades, while UNC Asheville’s
Solomon McDonald (Carthage, N.C.) and USC Upstate’s
Channing Ferguson shared the Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor for competitions during the opening weekend of the indoor season (Dec. 1-4).
Dudley won the 60m dash and tied his own school record with a time of 6.72 at the Liberty Kickoff. He remains tied for seventh-fastest all-time in Big South history in the event.
McDonald matched his school record in winning the shot put at the John Weaver Invitational with a throw of 18.28m (59-11.75). His mark is fourth all-time in league history.
Ferguson won the long jump at the Visit Winston-Salem College Kickoff with a meet-record and school-record distance of 7.52m (24-08.25). That effort ranks sixth on the Big South’s all-time performance list. Ferguson also won the high jump with a leap of 2.09m (6-10.25), which is tops in the conference thus far.
