Big South Announces Men's Cross Country Runners of the Week - Sept. 7
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – UNC Asheville junior Adam Hessler (Freedom, Pa.) has been selected the Big South Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, while Gardner-Webb’s Dylan Phillips (Abingdon, Va.) is the Men’s Freshman Runner of the Week for meets ran the opening week of the 2022 season, it was announced today.
Hessler finished 16th out of 146 runners in the 8K Covered Bridge Open last Friday with a time of 25:55.61, and was Asheville’s top finisher. He was the top Big South finisher in the meet, and finished ahead of runners from Louisville and Florida State.
In his collegiate debut, Phillips claimed runner-up honors at the 5K Carolina Challenge on Saturday with a time of 16:45.
