High Point Tops Annual Preseason Men's Indoor Track & Field Poll
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Defending Big South Champion
High Point University has been voted the favorite in the annual Big South Conference Men’s Indoor Track & Field preseason poll by the league’s head coaches, the conference office announced Thursday afternoon. The Panthers received five of the six first-place votes and 35 points to repeat as champion this season.
Charleston Southern garnered the remaining first-place vote and 31 points to finish second in the polling.
UNC Asheville claimed third with 23 points, while
USC Upstate was fourth in the voting with 16 points.
Winthrop landed in the fifth position with 13 points, followed by
Gardner-Webb in the sixth and final spot at eight points.
The 2023-24 men’s indoor track & field season begins today and thru this weekend, Nov. 30-Dec. 3, and concludes with the 2024 Big South Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship, Feb. 23-24 at Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va.
