Big South Announces Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Dec. 27

Josh Banks (Charlotte, N.C.) has been named the Big South Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while High Point forward
Juslin Bodo Bodo (Yaounde, Cameroon) is the Freshman of the Week for games played Dec. 18-24, it was announced today.
Banks averaged 21.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and was 16-of-28 from three-point range ( =57.1 percent) in leading UNC Asheville to a 3-0 week. He opened with a team-high 17 points and grabbed seven boards in a win over South Carolina State on Dec. 18. Banks then helped end Appalachian State’s eight-game win streak with a career-high 33 points on Dec. 21, in which he drained a school-record 10 three-pointers. He concluded his week with his first career double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in the Bulldogs’ victory over Kennesaw State on Dec. 23. Banks was 19-of-43 from the field ( =44.2) and made 9-of-10 from the charity stripe ( =90.0) in the three games.
Bodo Bodo contributed 7.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in High Point’s wins over UNC Greensboro and Canisius. He tallied four points, five caroms and two blocked shots against the Spartans on Dec. 19, and followed with another two blocks plus his first career double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds on Dec. 22 against Canisius. Bodo Bodo shot 66.7 percent from the field (6-of-9) in the two contests.
