Charleston Southern Advances to Women's Tennis Championship Match

No. 2 Charleston Southern began its women's tennis title defense with a 4-0 victory over No. 3 seed Gardner-Webb on Saturday.  The Bucs will face No. 1 seed UNC Asheville on Sunday at 3:00pm in search of its third consecutive Big South championship.

CSU clinched the doubles point behind wins from No. 2 flight Noa Boyd and Amila Jusufbegovic (6-3), followed by No. 3 duo Zoe Cauthen and Tiffany Pyritz (6-4).

In singles action, the Buccaneers used straight-set victories to clinch the semifinal match.  Cauthen posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory on the No. 5 court, with Boyd winning the No. 3 flight, 6-1, 6-2.  Luiza Fullana's 6-4, 6-0 triumph in the No. 1 singles match sealed the win for CSU.
