Big South Announces Women's Soccer Players of the Week - Aug. 28

Nao Kawasaki (Oita, Japan) has been named the Big South Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while High Point goalkeeper
Ellyn Casto (San Clemente, Calif.) is the Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Aug. 21-27, it was announced today. In addition, Radford forward
Hunter Rosenberg (Vienna, Va.) has been selected as the Freshman of the Week.
Kawasaki led Asheville to a 1-0 win at Davidson last Thursday when she converted her only shot attempt in the 21st minute. It was the Bulldogs’ second-straight victory of the season, as well as the program’s first win over the Wildcats since 2004.
Casto posted a 1-0-1 record with two clean sheets and 11 saves in 180 minutes of action. She first made seven stops to help the Panthers to a 1-0 win at UNC Greensboro last Wednesday, then turned away four shots in Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Appalachian State. Casto faced 24 total shots (13 vs. UNCG and 11 vs. App).
Rosenberg assisted on both of Radford’s goals in the Highlanders’ 2-0 win over Mount St. Mary’s on Sunday. Her first helper was at 33:59, while her second assist came in the 78th minute to help put the match away.
