Big South Men's Soccer Recap - Sept. 23

Presbyterian, High Point and Winthrop all picked up one-goal victories to start Big South action on Saturday, with the Blue Hose and Eagles capturing road wins.

PRESBYTERIAN 3, UNC ASHEVILLE 2 | BOX SCORE
Behind goals from Alex Walker, Damorney Hutchinson, and Victor Faaborg Christensen, Presbyterian came from behind with two goals in the final 14 minutes to defeat the UNC Asheville Bulldogs, 3-2, on the road in the Big South Conference opener for both teams.  
 
HIGH POINT 4, USC UPSTATE 3 | BOX SCORE
High Point scored four goals as the Panthers defeated USC Upstate 4-3 to secure their first Big South victory Saturday afternoon.  Freshman, Anthony Ramirez got HPU on the board in the 15th minute with his first career goal. Karson Kendall took the feed off the volley from the corner kick and directed it to Ramirez. Ramirez then swept his right foot meeting the ball on the turf and lasered it to the top right corner of the net.
 
WINTHROP 4, GARDNER-WEBB 3 | BOX SCORE
Ricardo Rodrigo netted two goals to lead Winthrop men's soccer to a Big South Conference opening 4-3 victory at Gardner-Webb, Saturday evening.  The Eagles jumped out to an early lead with a goal in the seventh minute.  Rodrigo Ferreira connected with his brother Ricardo Ferreira for the goal as Ricard placed a shot into the bottom right corner
