Big South Reveals 2024-25 Women's Basketball Conference Schedule
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – The Big South Conference unveiled its 2024-25 women’s basketball composite league schedule Wednesday morning. The 72-game slate begins on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025 and is a 16-game, double round-robin schedule to determine the 2024-25 regular-season champion.
The slate features two games a week, mostly on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and concludes Saturday, March 1. Teams have two open dates during the conference season -- one midweek and one Saturday, with the byes scheduled during each half of the season (Jan. 2-29, Feb. 1-March 1). All schools will play each other during the opening month of the campaign, with the second game of the season series scheduled at least two weeks apart.
Defending Big South Champion Presbyterian and new Blue Hose head coach
Tiffany Sardin will begin conference action at Longwood on Thursday, Jan. 2, while defending regular-season champion High Point opens its league slate at Radford that same evening. Opening the Big South campaign at home on Jan. 2 will be Gardner-Webb (vs. Charleston Southern) and USC Upstate (vs. Winthrop). UNC Asheville and new head coach

Gardner-Webb and Longwood will start and end league action at home, while High Point, Presbyterian and Winthrop will begin and finish conference play with road games. The two meetings featuring last year’s Championship game participants -- Presbyterian and Radford -- will be Saturday, Jan. 25 (at PC) and Saturday, Feb. 22 (at Radford).
The season culminates with the 2025 Hercules Tires Big South Women’s Basketball Championship, which will be held at Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tenn., from March 5-9. The first round will be Wednesday, March 5, followed by four quarterfinal contests on Thursday, March 6. The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, March 8, with the Championship game on Sunday, March 9.
