Big South Announces Women's Tennis Players of the Week - Feb. 28
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Presbyterian College’s McKenzie Davis (Florence, S.C.) has been named the Big South Women’s Tennis Player of the Week, while UNC Asheville’s Angelina Joy Hug (Murten, Switzerland) is the Women’s Freshman of the Week for matches played Feb. 19-25, it was announced today.
Davis posted a 7-6 (7-2), 6-7 (6-8), 1-0 (10-5) win over College of Charleston at the No. 1 spot, in addition to a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles alongside teammate Mathilde Delaney. She then went on to post No. 1 singles victories over Georgia State (7-5, 4-6, 10-8) on Saturday and at Kennesaw State (6-2, 2-6, 7-5) on Sunday.
Hug teamed up with Rosie Dickson for a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles over Kennesaw State on Saturday. She also collected a 6-2, 6-2 singles victory on the No. 4 court.
