Big South Announces Men's Tennis Players of the Week - April 10
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – UNC Asheville's Freddy Murray (Belfast, Northern Ireland) has been named the Big South Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, while Presbyterian’s Evgenios Vasilakis (Athens, Greece) is the Men’s Freshman of the Week for matches played April 1-7, it was announced today.
Murray posted a 2-0 record in his matches last week against Gardner-Webb. He began with a 6-3 victory at No. 3 doubles alongside teammate Sam Nicholson. Murray then defeated Gardner-Webb's Eduardo Dias on the No. 1 singles court, 7-5, 7-5.
Vasilakis contributed to Presbyterian's 4-3 victory over Radford last Tuesday by clinching the first doubles point with a 6-3 win at No. 3. Additionally, Vasilakis secured the Blue Hose's first singles point with a 6-2, 6-2 victory on court five. On Saturday, he collected a 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6) win at No. 4 singles in PC’s match at Campbell.
