Big South Announces Men's Tennis Player of the Week - April 3
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – UNC Asheville’s
Freddy Murray (Belfast, Northern Ireland) has been named the Big South Men’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played March 25-31, it was announced today.
Murray competed at No. 3 doubles with teammate Sam Nicholson where they claimed a 6-1 win over Belmont Abbey last Wednesday. He also secured a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles in the 7-0 victory. In Saturday’s 6-1 Big South win against Radford, Murray teamed up with Nicholson where they clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles. Murray then won in straight sets on the No. 1 singles court, 6-2, 6-2.
