Big South Announces Volleyball Players of the Week - Oct. 20 10/20/2025 4:28:00 PM CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – High Point outside hitter Élodie Lalonde (Ottawa, Ontario) has been selected the Big South Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played Oct. 13-Oct. 19, it was announced today. In addition fellow Panther Remy Catojo (Winnipeg, Manitoba) is the Setter of the Week while Gardner-Webb's Nalani McBride (Stafford, Va.) and USC Upstate’s Sophia Overholt (Tryon, N.C.) were voted the Co-Liberos of the Week. UNC Asheville’s Addie Brookbank (Barrington, Ill.) has been named the Freshman of the Week. Lalonde led the Panthers in kills, averaging 5.88 per set (47 total) and 6.25 points per set (50 total). She recorded a double-double in both of High Point’s wins over the weekend. She opened the weekend with 21 kills and 12 digs against Presbyterian, then followed with a career-best 26 kills and 10 digs in a win over USC Upstate. Catojo averaged 10.13 assists per set (81 total) on the weekend, recording 40+ assists in two Panther victories. She complimented her assist numbers with five blocks in each match and four total blocks. Defensively, Catojo had 23 digs on the weekend, including a career-high 16 against USC Upstate. She was perfect on serve against UNC Asheville, including two aces. McBride totaled 60 digs in Gardner-Webb’s two road matches, good for 7.50 per set. She picked up 21 digs against Presbyterian on Friday before recording a career-high 39 Saturday against Charleston Southern. McBride continues to lead the country in digs with 465 this season while ranking second in the country in digs per set (5.60). Overholt ranked second in the Big South in digs per set over the weekend, picking up 58 total digs for 6.44 per set. She complimented her dig numbers with 6 assists on the weekend. Overholt began the weekend with a career-best 35 digs against Radford, then added another 23 digs Saturday against High Point. Brookbank had a strong weekend, leading UNC Asheville with 27 total kills (3.86 per set) and a .254 hitting percentage. She recorded her third double-double of the season Friday against High Point, tallying 14 kills and picking up 19 digs. Saturday against Radford the freshman recorded 13 kills and had four service aces, one of which was the set-winning point in the second set.
