Big South Announces Men's Basketball Players of the Week - Dec. 1

Toyaz Solomon (Enfield, N.C.) has been named the Big South Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Gardner-Webb guard
Spence Sims (Fairhope, Ala.) is the Freshman of the Week honoree for games played Nov. 24-30, it was announced today.
Solomon averaged 23.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 59.3 percent from the floor in two games last week. He opened with 21 points on 8-of-11 from the field with nine boards plus an assist and steal in the Bulldogs’ setback to Tennessee State on Tuesday. Solomon followed with a career-high 25 points in Sunday’s win over Appalachian State. He grabbed eight caroms against the Mountaineers, was 9-of-11 from the charity stripe, and had two assists along with one blocked shot.
Sims scored a career-high 19 points at UNC Wilmington on Saturday to lead the Runnin’ Bulldogs in scoring for the third time this season. He was 6-of-12 from the floor, made 4-of-8 three-pointers and grabbed four rebounds vs. the Seahawks. Sims recorded a steal in all three games played last week, and led GWU with four assists against Navy last Wednesday.
