High Point Tops Annual Preseason Men's Indoor Track & Field Poll
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Three-time defending Big South Champion
High Point University has been unanimously voted the favorite in the annual Big South Conference Men’s Indoor Track & Field preseason poll by the league’s head coaches, the conference office announced this afternoon. The Panthers received all eight first-place votes and 64 points to repeat as champion this season.
Charleston Southern garnered 52 points to finish second in the polling.
USC Upstate claimed third with 47 points, while
UNC Asheville was fourth in the voting with 44 points.
Winthrop landed in the fifth position with 29 points, just ahead of
Gardner-Webb (28 points).
Longwood, in its first full year with an Indoor Track & Field program, landed in the seventh spot with 13 points.
Radford, which reinstated its men’s track & field program last May and is competing for the first time since 2014, received 11 points for the eighth and final slot in the balloting.
The 2025-26 men’s indoor track & field season begins this weekend (Dec. 4-7), and concludes with the 2026 Big South Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship, Feb. 27-28, at Tryon International in Mill Spring, N.C.
