High Point Voted Favorite in Annual Preseason Women's Indoor Track & Field Poll

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Three-time defending Big South Champion High Point University has been unanimously voted the top team in the annual Big South Conference Women’s Indoor Track & Field preseason poll, as voted by the league’s head coaches and announced this afternoon by the conference office.  The Panthers received all eight first-place votes and 64 points to repeat as conference champions in 2025-26.
 
Charleston Southern was second to High Point with 55 points, with Gardner-Webb in the third position with 43 points.  Radford was fourth in the balloting with 40 points, ahead of USC Upstate (31 points).  UNC Asheville was sixth in the preseason ranking with 29 points, while Winthrop was seventh with 17 points.  Longwood, in its first full year with an Indoor Track & Field program, landed in the eighth and final spot in the polling with nine points.

The 2025-26 women’s indoor track & field season begins this weekend (Dec. 4-7), and concludes with the 2026 Big South Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship, Feb. 27-28, at Tryon International in Mill Spring, N.C.
