Big South Announces Women's Tennis Players of the Week - April 9
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – Charleston Southern's
Noa Boyd (Silver Spring, Md.) has been named Player of the Week, while UNC Asheville's
Keira Stewart (Greenville, S.C.) and Gardner-Webb's Natalie Crawford have been named the Women's Co-Freshmen of the Week for matches played March 31-April 6, it was announced today.
Boyd had a standout weekend, going 2-0 between singles and doubles and playing a crucial role in the Bucs’ victory over UNC Asheville. She teamed up with Amilia Jusufbegovic to pick up a win at no. 1 doubles, 7-6, 7-5. She followed that up on court 3 in singles, coming back from a set down to win 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 clinching the overall match and a share of the regular season crown for Charleston Southern.
Stewart went 2-0 in singles, defeating Elle Sceney of Presbyterian and Brenda Yoris of Charleston Southern on court no. 5. She also picked up a doubles win against Presbyterian on court no. 2.
Crawford won singles at the no. 3 position against App State. She also won singles against Radford playing the #4 position. In doubles, she picked up a win on the no. 2 court alongside Milica Prokic.
