Big South Announces Women's Soccer Players of the Week - Sept. 2

Olivia Tribolet (Madison, Miss.) has been named the Big South Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Charleston Southern goalkeeper
Avery Mason (Andover, Kan.) is the Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Aug. 25-Aug. 31, it was announced today. In addition, UNC Asheville forward
Lilly Graumann (Baiersbronn, Germany) has been selected as the Freshman of the Week.
Tribolet recorded two goals and an assist in just 38 minutes of Gardner-Webb’s 10-2 win over South Carolina State on Sunday. The junior opened the scoring in the sixth minute, added an assist in the 47th minute and converted a penalty kick less than three minutes later. Her five points set a new season high. Tribolet finished the week with six shots in two matches in total, three of which went on target.
Mason tallied a career-high seven saves on 23 shots in Charleston Southern’s scoreless draw against Davidson on Sunday. The sophomore made four saves in the first half and three in the second, including a save at the doorstep in the 89th minute to maintain a clean sheet and preserve the tie. The shutout marks Mason’s first of 2025 and second of her career.
Graumann scored two goals in two UNC Asheville wins last week, with both serving as game-winners. The freshman netted the opener in the 16th minute of a 9-0 victory over Mars Hill, then struck again in the second minute of Sunday’s 2-0 win against VMI. She finished the week with four shots, including two on target.
