Big South Announces Women's Basketball Players of the Week - Feb. 9

Frances Ulysse (Montréal, Québec) has been named the Big South Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, while Radford forward
Georgia Simonsen (Fairfax, Va.) is the Freshmen of the Week for games played Feb. 2-8, it was announced today.
Ulysse averaged 17.0 points on 62.5 percent shooting (10-of-16) and 9.0 rebounds in a pair of Longwood victories. She added two assists, two steals and one block on the week while shooting 14-of-17 from the free throw line ( =82.4 percent). The junior recorded her second double-double of the season with a career-high 21 points and 10 rebounds in an overtime win against Radford. She followed with 13 points and eight rebounds in a win over UNC Asheville, including five offensive boards. Ulysse shot 5-of-8 from the field in each game.
Simonsen averaged 18.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in two games for Radford. She also contributed 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 60.0 percent from the field (15-of-25) and a perfect 2-of-2 from 3-point range. The freshman opened the week with 17 points, six rebounds, two steals and one block in an overtime loss at Longwood. She then posted a career-high 19 points with seven rebounds while matching a career high with three blocks as the Highlanders handed High Point its first conference loss of the season. Simonsen led Radford in scoring in both contests.
