Big South Announces 2026 Men's Tennis Championship Seedings

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) -- For the fourth consecutive year, Gardner-Webb University has earned the No. 1 seed in the Big South Men’s Tennis Championship, it was announced this afternoon.  The Runnin’ Bulldogs finished the 2026 regular-season as the outright Big South champion with their 3-0 league record, and are seeking the program’s second consecutive Big South Tournament crown.
 
Once the regular-season champion is seeded, associate members are then inserted into the bracket based on national ranking.  Associate member NJIT is the No. 2 seed based on its ITA ranking of 97, with Longwood (2-1 in conference) the No. 3 seed at 109.  Presbyterian College (1-2 Big South) is seeded No. 4 at 121, followed by UNC Asheville (0-3 conference, 172) at No. 5, and associate member Bryant (ITA ranking of 210) the sixth and final seed.
 
The 2026 Big South Men’s Tennis Championship will be played Thursday-Saturday, April 16-18 at the Lexington County Tennis Complex in Lexington, S.C.  The Big South’s Tournament champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship.  The Championship schedule is as follows and is subject to change:
 
Thursday, April 16 – First Round
No. 4 Presbyterian vs. No. 5 UNC Asheville, 2:00pm
No. 3 Longwood vs. No. 6 Bryant, 2:00pm
 
Friday, April 17 – Semifinals
No. 1 Gardner-Webb vs. 4/5 winner, 3:00pm
No. 2 NJIT vs. 3/6 Winner, 6:00pm
 
Saturday, April 18 – Championship
Semifinal Winner 1 vs. Semifinal Winner 2, 2:00pm
