Seedings Announced for 2026 Big South Women's Lacrosse Championship
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (www.BigSouthSports.com) – For the fifth straight year, associate member
Mercer University has secured the No. 1 seed in the Big South Women’s Lacrosse Championship and will host the league’s semifinal and championship rounds next weekend, the Conference announced today. The Bears finished a perfect 8-0 in league play and enter the postseason seeking their fifth straight Big South Tournament title.
High Point placed second in the conference standings at 7-1 to earn the No. 2 seed, followed by
Wofford at 6-2 as the No. 3 seed.
Furman secured the No. 4 seed with a 5-3 league mark.
Radford finished 3-5 in conference action to clinch its first tournament berth since 2021, while
Longwood claimed the No. 6 seed at 2-6.
The first round of the 2026 Big South Women’s Lacrosse Championship will be contested at campus sites on Tuesday, April 28. No. 4 Furman hosts No. 5 Radford, with the winner advancing to face No. 1 Mercer in the semifinals on Friday, May 1 at 4:00pm. No. 3 Wofford welcomes No. 6 Longwood, with the victor moving on to meet No. 2 High Point on Friday at 7:00pm.
Semifinal winners will advance to the championship game on Sunday, May 3 at 12:00pm ET.
All matches of the championship will be broadcast on ESPN+. The tournament champion receives the Big South’s automatic bid to the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship. The complete schedule is as follows:
