Big South Announces Women's Tennis Players of the Week - April 8

Laura Wipfli (Ecublens, Switzerland) has been named the Big South Women's Tennis Player of the Week, while Longwood’s
Bali Song (San Nicolás de los Garza, México) was named the Freshman of the Week for matches played March 30-April 5, it was announced today.
Wipfli battled back after dropping the first set on court No. 1 to defeat Temple’s Irmak Ozturk, 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 in a hard-fought three-set match. Against Drexel, Wipfli again rallied after dropping the opening set to defeat Lorie Lemongo, 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. She also teamed up with Irene Cocero to go 2-0 at the top doubles flight.
Song won at singles and doubles as Longwood defeated Presbyterian, 5-2, on Thursday. She teamed with Oriana Izarra to win at No. 1 doubles (6-2), followed by a 6-4, 7-6 (3), 6-2 at No. 1 singles to clinch the match for the Lancers.
