Five Big South Baseball Teams Earn ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award for 2026
Five Big South baseball programs have been recognized for their achievements in the classroom with the 2025-26 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award.
Charleston Southern, Gardner-Webb, Longwood, Presbyterian College and
UNC Asheville were recognized with this year's award, which highlights programs coached by ABCA members that posted a GPA over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2025-26 academic year. The ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award was created following the 2015-16 season.
The five programs were among the more than 800 member college and high school programs receiving this year's award.
Gardner-Webb has been honored each year of the award's existence, while Charleston Southern receives its sixth consecutive honor. UNC Asheville has been honored for the fourth-straight year. PC's recognition is its first since 2022, with Longwood earning the award for the first time since 2020.
