Big South Announces Women's Soccer Players of the Week - Sept. 21

Lili Adams (Frisco, Texas) has been named the Big South Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while High Point’s
Aleena Ulke (Moon Township, Pa.) is the Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Sept. 14-20, it was announced today. In addition, High Point forward
Chloe Edwards (Nashville, Tenn.) has been selected as the Freshman of the Week.
Adams recorded a brace to lead UNC Asheville to a 3-1 victory over Presbyterian in the Bulldogs’ Big South opener. After Presbyterian took an early second-half lead, Adams netted the unassisted equalizer in the 66th minute to pull Asheville level. Less than two minutes later, the Bulldogs took the lead before Adams sealed the win with another unassisted goal in the 87th minute to put Asheville ahead by two. She put three of her five shots on goal while playing 70 minutes, helping the Bulldogs open conference play with a win for the first time since 2015.
Ulke scored her first career collegiate goal to help lift High Point to a 2-1 road win at Longwood in Saturday’s conference opener. The graduate defender opened the scoring in the 25th minute, capitalizing on a corner kick and slipping the ball past the Lancer goalkeeper to put the Panthers ahead, 1-0. After Longwood equalized seven minutes later, Ulke helped HPU keep the Lancers off the board the rest of the way, including limiting Longwood to just two shots on goal in the second half. Ulke’s goal came on her only shot of the match, just her third of the season, while playing 53 minutes.
Edwards scored the second-half game-winning goal to lift High Point over Longwood and open conference play with a victory. The freshman broke a 1-1 tie with an unassisted goal in the 75th minute, firing a shot into the bottom-left corner for her first career game-winning goal and second score of the season. She put both of her shots on goal while playing 40 minutes, helping the Panthers open the Big South season with a win for the first time since 2024.
