Jason Aigner is in his second year with the Big South Conference in 2025-26, and first in the newly created position of Assistant Director of Communications & Branding. Aigner served the Conference Office in 2024-25 as the Communications & Branding Assistant intern before being elevated to his current role on July 15, 2025.
In his new role, Aigner will be the primary communications contact for volleyball, cross country, track & field, tennis, women’s lacrosse and softball. In addition, he will assist with men’s and women’s basketball, serve as the primary photographer at Big South Championships, and will continue to enhance the Big South’s social and digital media offerings. In 2024-25, he supported the Communications & Branding department with day-to-day coverage of several sports, as well as social media and content creation.
Prior to joining the Big South staff, Aigner was a graduate assistant with George Washington University’s men’s basketball program, where he was the lead team photographer while assisting with day-to-day team operations and player development while earning his Master’s degree in Sports Management. Aigner’s experience also includes a role with the well-known Nike Pro City Kenner League held at Georgetown University in the Summer of 2023. He served as the lead photography intern and was responsible for capturing photos for social media graphics and standalone posts.
A native of Fairfax, Va., Aigner attended Christopher Newport University where he was a four-year starter on the men’s basketball team. He graduated in 2022 as a double major in history and philosophy, with a minor in leadership, and was as a member of Chi Alpha Sigma Student-Athlete Honor Society.
